Nobel International School Algarve is the largest private school group in the south of Portugal, offering a co-educational day and boarding school with multiple locations for pupils aged 3 to 18.

There are currently two campus choices for pre-school and primary, at Lagoa or Lagos, and senior students are based at Lagoa.

We offer a bi-lingual primary school at Lagos, with a village school feel of 50 children, and a British or Portuguese curriculum at our main campus in Lagoa, where there are 820 students. The primary section here still maintains an independent feel but senior students visit to help as reading buddies.

In the senior international section, students take IGCSEs and A levels and benefit from specialist facilities for Science, ICT, Music and Sport.  Students are involved with arts and sciences projects in Portugal and further afield such as CERN, Switzerland and a film festival linked to Seville. Sports teams compete at soccer, athletics, basketball and cross country all over the Algarve and in Lisbon and Porto. Rugby 7s launched at the school in September 2017 and is already proving to be a popular sport and successful team, under the expert coaching of a former Premiership youth coach.

The school´s boarding house for children aged 12 to 18 offers bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, with one or two students per room. This is located 40 minutes´ from Faro Airport and a 15 minute drive from the school campus on the coast at Armaçao de Pêra.  For expat families, the option of flexi-boarding and weekly boarding can create stability and more freedom for travel due to work. We work closely with our boarding families to achieve the best package for parents, children and the boarding community.

At least 50 per cent of our international leavers enter the top 100 Universities of Europe, including Oxford, Durham, Leeds and UCL. Our newly appointed Head of Sixth Form has vast experience and we offer a programme of individual tutorials and UCAS support, to guide students and parent through the decision-making process. Sixth formers also attend sessions on mindfulness to help prepare them for the change in study demands that A Levels involve.

The school also offers an action-packed English language summer school programme for 12 to 18 year olds. The programme includes: 20 lessons of classroom English per week and various local summer-themed activities complemented by the excellent beach side location. Visit www.nobelalgarve.com for more information.  Summer clubs for children aged 3 to 12 are also available upon enquiry with the front office and these are also open to pupils not yet attending Nobel International School Algarve.

We do not currently host Open Days;  instead we welcome you to visit the school at a time convenient to your family, where you can bring your questions and meet the Head of International Section or National Section as well as having a tour of the campus.
